Croatia+Venise=Best Trip EVER
Wow, ok....so after months of waiting, and hearing me talk about it, it finally happened. I had my GRAP TRIP!!!!! Woooot! So, we left in our bus last Tuesday. Drove through Belgium, Germany, Austria...Austria....Austria...Did I mention we got lost for 4 hours in...oh, AUSTRIA, ha ha, so we got, uh, un-lost, and drove through Slovania, theeeeen....CROATIAAAAAA! We stopped in the Capital (Zagreb)and had a little tour and changed our money over (7 Kuna for 1 Euro)and had lunch. We then went to our hotel and we all died of exhaustion.
The next day we spent alllll day walking through a national park and saw lakes, and waterfalls, and rivers, and waterfalls, and caves, and waterfalls. I have 8 million photos of waterfalls. But, it was gorgeous and I loved it!
Then we went back to the hotel, took advantage of their swimming pool and bar, and all died of exhaustion. Again.
Third day we...ummm...I dont remember...Oh right! Ok. We visited this little town on the coast, but I dont remember the name. And we all ate calzone's for 14 kuna. Yum. Then we went to see the Krka Waterfalls (yes, more waterfalls), and it's pronounced K-ere-ka. And you roll the R. It was pretty, but less impressive than the first day of water falls. lol.
The next day we went to Split. Its a city built inside of a castle. It was pretty cool, we had a guided tour, then some free time in wich we discovered we had only 2 days left and loads of kuna, so we ate pizza in a resto. instead of at McDonalds like the rest of the class. Ick. Croatian McDicks. I dont even want to know.
After split we were supposed to have a tour of a city in Bosnia, but Simone, the Brasillian, wasnt allowed in the country, beucase, well, she's Brasillian, and there was something extra she needed. A special visa or something. So she cried. But we were all psyched, because we got to Dubrovnick 4 hours early, and it was the best hotel we stayed in, and the most beautiful city.
We got free time in the city that night, and found the coolest little bar called Fresh. Best night ever.
The next day we took a tour of Dubrovnick, and I loaded up on souvenirs. I even bargained with this lady for a pair of mother of pearl earrings, she made jewlery out of mother of pearl, coral, etc. It's all hand made and very pretty. Anyways, they were supposed to be 150 kuna, but I got them for 85! Go me!
After Dubrovnick we went back to Split, had a bit of free time, then got on our boat. Yes. I said boat.
Our boat took us across the Adriatic Sea to Venise. The boat was alright, I didn't get sick, my teachers bought me drinks because all week I had been playing the role of little miss translator, because Croates dont speak french, but they do speak english, and my teachers dont speak english. Yeahhh. Oh, and I gave my teachers mohawks on a dare. It was great.
Venise, was beautiful. We ate loads of Pasta. LOL! I didnt have time to do the gondolas, but I got loads of photos. I dont know, I liked Dubrovnick better. For me, venise was pretty and all, but it was pretty much...go shopping, look at a church, go shopping.
I'm in love with Croatia....
If you ever get the chance, GO!
