Sorry, long time, no blog

Ohhh, how I hate Blogger. Ive just written a really lovley looong blog, and when i went to post it, it all got deleted. So, from now on Im going to write my blogs in Word then copy them here.

Soo, most of you probably know about how I almost broke my foot, so Ill give out the short version, also because im slightly tired of typing, and re-typing this all.
So, I was in the bathroom last Saturday and the countertop + 2 sinks + cabinets fell off the wall, on to my foot. If my foot had been about 2 inches to the right the corner that hit the floor first would have landed on my foot and would have at least fractured it. Luckily, it didnt, I got pretty x-rays and everything. Its doing really well now, I have a massive bruise that Damien (host brother) likes to poke to make me scream ‘OWW!’ because he likes to make fun of me because here they dont say ‘ow,’ they say ‘Aie!’ It bothered me a bit when I went to Dance, but I think that the fact that I made it though a dance class means Ill live.

I got my report card last week. My profs didnt bother to give me marks, just comments, but they were all really positive. Fabrice (host Dad) also went to Parent Teacher Interviews, and I guess all my teachers love me. I wanted to go with him, but my grade was doing fundraisers for our Grad trip to Croatia in April. So I worked at the Bar for a bit, pouring beer (yes, Im aquiring usefull skills here in the land of 800 different types of beer) and selling chips/suckers, then I helped out with the car wash and naturally got soaked (what do you expect when you give 20 teenage boys hoses and buckets of water?). Good thing it was the warmest October 26th since 1913!!!!!

Ive also found something to occupy my saturday afternoons! LOL, I joined scouts, well, Guides because Im a girl. Its really fun, and its a really popular thing for kids my age to do, so Ive met loads of other people my age (but you all know I only did it for the cookies right?). And, since Im all old and whatnot, I get to be one of the people that organizes stuff for the younger girls (no, I dont remember the word in English). My group is with 4 other girls my age and we’re responsible for 35-40 girls ages 7-11. The little kids are facinated by the fact that I dont understand half of what they say (little kids dont get the concept of speaking at anything less than about 300wpm).

Tomorrow I might be going to Paris for the day, Fabienne (host Mom) is going to watch a tennis tournament, but she doesnt know what day she’s going because they havent put up the programme yet and she wants to go on a day when her favorite player is playing. Um, soo yeah, cross your fingers for tomorrow! If its anyother day next week I cant go because Tuesday Im leaving to go to the North Sea (Koksijde to be exact) until Sunday. No worries, I have the week off school for what I think is called All Saints Day in English, anyways its the day after Halloween, and they give us the whole week off and I dont undersand why, but who cares? Im going to the North Sea!!

Oh and on November 11th Im going to Ypres to visit the WW1 Canadian Military Memorial. Yes, I did save my poppy from last year and bring it with me. Its an hour and a half away from here, but its a Saurday and Fabrice is really into that kind of thing, so he said he’d drive me rather than me taking the train and getting there 2 hours later than I plan on, because the trains here hate me like that. I went to a thing last week where I got to be an English teacher for a day and I was an hour and a half late because I missed my second train, then my third train took me into the Dutch speaking part of the country and so the name of the train stations were different and it took me forever to figure out the timetables.
Ill send updates and hopfully pictures on the Paris situation!!!!

Im Back!

Ahh, so France was loverly. I managed (between the rain and the wind) to get myself tanned, and a little bit burnt, lol. I went to a Salvador Dali museum in Spain!!! It was, in a nutshell, amazing! I seriously love that guy's work. I caught a starfish in the sea and brought it home. I SAW and WENT IN the sea for the first time! It was really such a good time, but I was pretty happy to come back to Belgium. I didnt get much (and by much, I mean ANY) time to myself. Blogger hates me and takes forever to upload pics though, so Ill send them around in an Email.

Wednesday I went shopping in Mons with my new (American) friend, Bailey. I didnt acually buy anything, but we had the BEST pitas in the history of pitas! Ha ha, and they wern't even acually real pitas, as in, they wernt in acual pita bread. They were in..kind of like, a half a round, flat loaf of bread, and we ordered them with BBQ sauce, but the BBQ sauce here isnt like BBQ sauce in Canada, but it was still goood.

Yesterday I did one of the stupidest things EVER, lol, I made Thanksgiving dinner for 8 people, and I tried to do it myself.

Ive never cooked a turkey myself (not that that mattered, we couldnt find a turkey and I made chicken instead), let alone Thanksgiving dinner.

Nothing finished cooking at the same time, I forgot the salad until the last minute, the chicken didnt finish cooking until about 1/2 hour after we decided to start eating everything else, and when I was making the cabbage rolls I was talking to my host dad and put the sauce on the rice then rolled it in the cabbage, so the cabbage looked a bit funny.
BUT
They all loved my food, and wanted the pumpkin pie recipie. I kicked Thanksgiving ass.

Hee hee hee.
