Don't hate me!!
I know, I know, I'm a horrible person, I don't update!!What has happened in the last month? Loads I guess!
After Grad Trip I went on a 3 day trip with Bailey & Natalie to Ireland, we stayed in a hostel in Dublin, and basically toured the city, but didnt get the chance to leave it. Among other things we saw the Guiness Storehouse (Free samples included), the Jamieson Distillery (Irish Coffee anyone?) , Grafton Street, St. Patricks Cathedral, St. Stephen's Park, aaaand Dublin night life in general, lol. It was amazing!!!!
Oh, and I went to Amsterdam for the day. Good times, spent the day laughing at the advertisements for the Coffee Shops, which, if you didn't know, DONT SELL COFFEE. Think about it.
My Mom & Gramma came to visit for 2 weeks, we went to Paris (France), Amiens (France), Oostend (Belgium), Brussels, Breendoonk Concentration Camp, Thuin, L'Abbey D'Aldune....
Anyways, Mom liked Oostend best, because it's on the coast. Even though the North Sea is not the prettiest sea ever, ah well.
I had a boooooyfriend. Lol, yes, HAD. Turned out to be a JERK, and I broke up with him just in time for St.Roch! LOL!!
St. Roch (last weekend) is the festival in my town. It's held every year in honor of St.Roch who saved my town from the plauge. And there's nothing the Friday night, but Saturday night Les Marcheurs ('The Walkers' there are a bunch of companies of walkers who all dress up in different military uniforms, and..walk...all weekend, and get very very very drunk every night)and anyone who wants to buy a torch do a walk through the town. They light this big fire and you can go light your torch and walk around. Sunday there is a big parade with all the companies of Marcheurs. Monday...uh, they all walk around again...or something. Evreyone is super tired by that time anyways. Because we all go home every night at like 4, but the marcheurs start at like 9am. School is cancelled on monday because noone would go anyways. Tuesday les marcheurs dress up in other costumes, but I didnt know that & neither did Lindsay, so we didnt go. It was the next dat that my host mom asked me why I didnt go. Grr. I didnt take photos, because it was raining all weekend, and there were alot of very drunk people. I think theres a website though, so Ill go see.
But after the walk is done for the day everyone goes out to the cafes, me and Lindsay stayed au Vieux Thuin, which is the most popular one, run by the scouts. It was always packed so we danced alot and had loads of fun!!! It was pretty much the best weekend Ive had here!!!!!!!!!
Exams are starting soon, so all my Belgian friends are locked away studying, and I am left with little to do. Soo, I'm helping with the elections. My host brother is a federal deputy, and so this weekend we have to put 12,000 letters in envelopes for that. Fun. Oh well, it's raining.
